A: It depends on the scope. A kitchen or primary room can take 4–7 months; a whole-home remodel typically runs 9–15 months. Because we design and build under one roof, we're typically 15–20% faster than separate-firm arrangements. We'll give you a realistic timeline specific to your project in our first conversation.
A: We handle permits entirely. Our team prepares and submits all required documentation, interfaces directly with LADBS and any relevant agencies, and tracks approvals through to issuance. You don't need to manage that process. It's part of what we do.
A: Absolutely. Most clients come in with inspiration images, a rough scope, or a strong sense of what they want. We love that. Our job is to take your vision, pressure-test it against reality, and hand it back as something better. The more you bring, the faster we move.
A: When design and construction are separate firms, gaps are inevitable. In communication, in budget accuracy, and in accountability when something goes wrong. At Letter Four, Lauren (your architect) and Jeremy (your contractor) are in constant coordination from day one. That means the design is always buildable, the budget is always honest, and there's never any finger-pointing between teams.
