PROJECT

Don Alanis

Baldwin Hills, California

This 2,258-square-foot contemporary home plan is designed for dramatic sloped sites, stepping down the hillside so every level captures natural light and sweeping views. Three bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, and open flowing living room space. Built around a warm, minimal material palette: light oak millwork, natural wood flooring, soft plaster walls, and brass and stone accents.

The exterior pairs vertical wood cladding, smooth stucco, and expansive glazing for a clean, contemporary look that holds up on complex terrain. Large sliding openings connect the main living areas to the outdoors.

Built using a prefabricated construction approach, this plan streamlines the building timeline without compromising design precision. A self-contained ADU with a separate entrance is included, adding built-in flexibility for rental income, guest space, or multi-generational living.
