When our clients described the home they lost, they said, "Our house was a paradise that felt warm, welcoming and colorful." That feeling became the starting point for how our team approached this Pacific Palisades rebuild. The 3,807-square-foot home has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms that is modern with a touch of industrial character. White walls and simple lines create a calm backdrop, while very high ceilings give every room space to breathe. The clients' instinct to mix and match, pairing the unexpected with the familiar, carries that warmth forward. The hillside site shapes the design as much as the aesthetic does. Building on a slope asks more of the foundation and structure, so those decisions start early in design, long before construction begins. This home steps down along with the hillside, following the slope of the land. The all-steel construction means it’s resilient and fire-hardened, as well as able to survive the next earthquake.
