PROJECT

Letter Four Case Study

Los Angeles, CA

This home plan is Letter Four's answer to smart, intentional density in Los Angeles: a beautifully designed home built for real life, not just for looks. The main living areas form an L-shape wrapping around the pool, outdoor dining patio, and a firepit entertainment area, with sliding glass doors that virtually disappear to open the floor plan to the outdoors. A double-height living room with a wood feature wall draws the eye up, while natural wood continues throughout the interior alongside terrazzo floors, Nero Marquina counters, and a slatted stair feature. Ribbed wood ceilings, clerestory windows, and skylights bring warmth, privacy, and natural light throughout, tying the indoor and outdoor spaces together.

Upstairs, a primary suite and two secondary bedrooms sharing a bath bring the main home to four bedrooms and three bathrooms total, including a downstairs office/guest bedroom. Above the garage, a private one-bedroom, and a one-bathroom ADU with its own entrance. A rooftop patio adds built-in flexibility, ideal as an income property, a home office, or a studio.
